Loyal nature. Likes animals, but cats are his favorite. Sometimes moody, apathetic or arrogant.  Pouts like a kid if he doesnt get what he wants.
When drunk, (happens only once in year) he is suprisingly enegetic and very funny.
Slow to anger, but once angry, he is very dangerous and unstable.
From age of 6 he is also capable of lucid dreaming. (often dreams about forests and stars)
but unable to tolerate ignorancy and deception in any form. Rock solid mental barriers. (impossible to brainwash) Traditionalist both in thinking and in his actions.
Respects rightful hierarchy and order. Hates material and non-material chaos equally. Coffee addict and bookworm. Interested in science, metaphysics and in the nature of ideologies.
           



- Pre-War Life:

Raised as a single child in a very loving family. His grandparents came from noble families, but after the first World War the Ahlbach family lost all wealth.
(11th gerenation Silversmiths) However, in the National Socialist Era, some were recovered, but only to lose everything once again after the second World War.
(And even more in the DDR.)

Mother is a nurse in a hospital, Father is a small Antique book store owner. Inherited his love of books and knowledge from both parents, so reading books became his first favorite thing.
At a very young age, Horst learned herbalism and homeopathy from his mother, metaphysics and science from his father.
In his university years, he was always one of the best students. He also had very few but faithful friends. After graduation he was employed by Rotkreuzklinik in München. Horst's creativity, reliability (and his sense of humor) helped him to rise in ranks rather quickly.
Few years later his talent have caught the attention of a highly secret Military Science Institution.
               
   
- Early War and Wartime:

Worked in a secret project in the Arctic known as "Neu Schwabenland."  (studying Treta Yuga Technology)
Experiments were done with blood and tissue-samples and various artifacts found deep underground in the arctic.
Horst had an accident with an exploding central power generator. (sabotage maybe?)
The explosion destroyed 17 labs and 2 artifact storage facility.
Horst found himself between life and death for three days. At that time, he was in the spectral place known as "a place between and beyound worlds".
A creature of unknown origin - tried to assimilate him on the other side. He was saved by a sudden surge of energy - An entity named "Algiz" shielded him and imbued him with a powerful protectve ability. (übercharge)
The creature was burned and finally destroyed, so Horst was able to return into his own body.  

The facility was utterly destroyed and lost its funding because of the escalating war.
Because of this, Horst was reassigned to the Wehrmacht as a front line medic until the end of war. In January 1944 he was seriously injured during a partisan ambush. As a nearby explosion ripped his attacker in half (a partisan woman) and knocking out Horst who landed hard on his back. In this explosion, his left knee was also damaged by a shrapnel. (The second out of body and death experience, he returned to his body once again without much problem.)  
The back of his neck was seriouly injured a few years later by a failed soviet executional attempt. A soldier tried to smash his neck from behind with a riflebutt. (the loud "crack" in his neck was a mild case of Spondylosis, not a damage) But he escaped, because his executoners believed that he was dead.


- Post-War Life:

Later that day, after the failed executioning attept, (wandering aimlessly like a half-dead for hours) Horst was found by an american patrol and were taken into a prisoner of war camp. Even met soldiers from his unit, and a few more, who's life he saved as a front-line medic. Horst quickly achieved a respected status among his fellow soldiers. (his sense of humor helped) Under the 4 months of his captivity, a translator woman lectured him about the basics of Engish-language by giving him books and lessons.  

After the war, with a help of a friend he got a job in an East-German (DDR) hospital as a trauma surgeon. This period was short however, because of his superior (old rival and now, a communist party member) held a very old grudge against him (in his early hospital years he hated Horst with a passion) and literally made Horst's life unbearable (early morning and late night shifts without end, fawlty equipment and torturing Horst in the worst psycological ways as possible.)One day his hated boss went too far, (by saying his family is nothing more than perverted inbred sklavenhalter.)

Horst have lost his temper, and handed his resignation in his right fist as a bone-shattering punch. Apart from that "little" injury, (broken jaw)  Horst was unemployed once again and was on the run from local authorities. (STASI)
His parents and friends helped him to escape from East-Germany in a deep-freezer container. (he hated tunnels and handled cold better than tight spaces anyway)
The escape was successful, but the plan wasnt 100% sane. Because of that, he was terribly sick with a nasty phenumia for three weeks. (slept for days only to wake up for a few hours)
Horst was nursed back to health by his loving wife Helga, it was a very happy and quiet period in his life. One day, she brought home a lovely kitten to make him feel better. She gave it the name "Schnaps" because his grandfather owns a very old  Hausbrennerei and because her grandmother loves cats.
                               
               
               

- Employment to TF Industries:  

Horst was contacted by the same translator woman who he met in the prisoner of war camp. She was also the part of this highly secret organisation. He is in good terms with everyone in the team. He is very patient to his teammates, but he has absolutly no willpower to deal with senseless idiocy. Unlike his RED counterpart, the übercharge is not based on any kind of technology its more like an ability amplified by technology.
                 
- Horst as a Medic:  

Passive team-healer, but he is capable in defending himself very aggressively. Sometimes he goes "Battle Medic" when its absolutely necessary.
In Mann versus mode, he is a multi übercharge deploying battle medic. (kills bots and giant bots if he really needs to)
                   
- Horst's equipment:

Standard syringe gun, Übersaw, (modified with a silver longblade) and the "Vril Conduit" (botkiller medigun) with attached battletrophy and Übercharge counter.

Horst is capable of amplifying the base frequency of his physical body. Because of this, his body is partially present in the Spectral realm - and functions as a conduit of energy flow. With that, he is able to absorb any damage without injury. (Übercharge)
               
This ability however, is very short and quite difficult to maintain. After this, his body suddenly returns to its normal state, causing a few annoying side effects: - sudden bloodpressure and core temperature drop, sluggishness, dizzyness, shivering, vomiting, cold stiffness of joints and skeletal muscles, in extreme cases mental and physical exhaustion or sudden unconsciousness.

These side effects are not permanent, but a quick nap or a few hours of sleep is always needed.

Strong endurance, resistance to poisons and chemicals, rapid regeneration, slow aging, longlivity.

Abnormally high melatonin levels instead of the average 7-8 hours of sleep he needs at least 10-12.
